Celebrating Your Day Your Way!
|
|
Congratulations!
Whether you choose a simple wedding ceremony at your home,
an elegant event in a garden,
a celebration of your vows by the sea,
or a civil union at a luxurious resort,
may your special day be filled with joy and happiness!
Being a Mobile Justice of the Peace, I am happy to go wherever you need me in Connecticut, whether you want to
get married in the Elizabeth Park Rose Garden in Hartford, CT
(WWW.ElizabethPark.Org),
celebrate your civil union at Harkness Memorial State Park in Waterford, CT
(WWW.ct.gov/dep/cwp/view.asp?a=2716&q=325214),
or have your handfasting at Mystic Seaport in Mystic, CT
(WWW.MysticSeaport.Org)!
You choose the location in Connecticut and I'll be there.
There are photographs from a few suggested locations
to whet your appetite.
This Web Site is intended to help you make decisions about one of the happiest days of your life.
At the moment there are Pages to help guide you through the practical fundamentals of
deciding whether to design your own ceremony or use a traditional format,
choosing a location, and getting your license.
More information is on the way and will be here in the summer of 2008!
Please feel free to call with any questions! I'm here to serve you.
Please reserve your date as far in advance as possible to ensure that you have the best ceremony possible.
Eloping? No problem! Short-notice ceremonies can usually be arranged. As long as there is not another ceremony already scheduled, I'll be there!
Most of the time I am available for your wedding or civil union.
Specifically, I will be available Labor Day Weekend (Friday, August 29th through Monday, September 1st),
Halloween (Friday, October 31st), Thanksgiving Weekend (Thursday, November 27th through Sunday, November 30th),
Christmas Day (December 25th),
New Year's Eve (Wednesday, December 31st), and New Year's Day (Thursday, January 1st, 2009).
These tend to be popular days, so reserve your date now!
Dates that I will not be available in 2008:
From Thursday, August 21st through Sunday, August 24th, and Christmas Eve (December 24th) I will be unavailable for ceremonies.
"Officiant" versus "Celebrant"
You can call me an "Officiant" (it comes from the same root as "official")
or "Celebrant" (from the root "celebrate").
You may see the word "Officiant" used in many places (especially on the Web) because people who perform ceremonies are often called officiants
because they officiate at ceremonies.
I consider myself a celebrant, because I help you celebrate your love through your marriage or civil union.
It is an honor to be asked to help celebrate the formal, legal recognition of your love, and it is a pleasure to unite you by law.
You may also see the terms "civil union officiate" and "wedding officiate" on the Web.
"Officiate" is a verb; "officiant" is a noun. An officiant will officiate at a ceremony.
Because I am also a Connecticut Mobile Notary Public,
I can notarize your signatures on many kinds of documents.
Please visit WWW.NutmegMobileNotary.Com for details.
Please note that I am a Connecticut Justice of the Peace; I am not an attorney.
I cannot give legal advice. The answers given here were derived from information publicly available.
You are encouraged to do your own research, both online and in your public library.
Please check with the Town Clerk or City Clerk where you reside or plan to have the ceremony.
The people in the Clerk's office want your celebration to be a success; they will help you however they can.
For more complex questions, you may want to consult an attorney authorized to practice law in Connecticut.
